More Photos!

I'm really getting the photography buzz these days! I have a couple of jobs lined up, and hopefully Ill get more...Give me chance to get better!

I did some more for my friend Jo yesterday. Her little girl has grown sooo much since the last pics! She's still a tiny 14lbs, but she's as cute as a button! Here's some pics:

New Website

My one and only New Years resolution was to get better at photography.

I decided to create a website and a Facebook Group so I could get the word out.

For the website, I need to purchase the domain, but until I'm making at least enough to maintain the website and domain, I'm happy hosting it via Apple.

I have over 100 members in my Facebook group. Granted, I do know most of them...but some people I've never heard of have joined, which is great - hopefully they have cute kiddos I can take pics of!

I'm completely selling myself short on prices for taking pics! £30 for a disc of 10-15 edited images and me travelling to the house to do the photos. My main aim is to practice so I can get better, and get the word out. The £30 would cover petrol costs and then he remainder covers the time it takes to edit the pics.

In the next few weeks, after I have a few more photos, I'm going to get some business cards made up and start advertising at work.

Happy 2010!!

Sorry I've not updated for a while.

I hope everyone has had a good Christmas and that the new year brings lots of good things!

In usual Claire fashion...here are a few pics of my niece from today. Out of nowhere, she's sprouted the curliest hair I've ever seen. She didn't have this much hair 2 weeks ago, I swear!!

A year of double trouble...

Since the twins turned 1 last week, I thought I should do a post with pics of their first year...

Welcome to the world little dudes...November 2008:

Uncle Des' first time meeting the boys:

Christmas Eve 2008 - Snuggled together in their moses basket (which they very quickly outgrew)!:

January 2009

Just before their 8-week injections:

May 2009 (I kept forgetting to take my camera when we visited!)

Summer 2009 - Look at how big they're getting!

September 2009:

October 2009 - Nearly 1!

I'm hoping to visit again in the next couple of weeks to get pics of them now they're 1! I truly can't believe how fast the year went! Next time I blink they'll be starting school!

I've been MIA - Sorry!

Sorry for the lack of posts from me! I've been really busy!

I've not really been up to much, other than working and sleeping...but working and sleeping are keeping me busy during the week, and visiting family over the weekends has been non-stop!

Well, the updates...My little nephews turned 1 on November 18th! How on earth did that happen?! I was their first visitor this time last year, and here we are, a year on...they're like little dynamos shuffling round the house! Heh!

We didn't do anything for their birthday, but we dropped off a present for them last weekend. We got them a bounce & spin zebra which should be fun for them to play on when they get a little steadier on their feet and begin pulling themselves up!

I bought a MacBook Pro last week. I needed cheering up and my laptop was a useless piece of crap, so there I was in the Apple Store weighing up the pro's and cons of each one. I ended up with the pro purely for the SD card slot for my photographs. Since it was bloody expensive I had to get the 13" screen one. It does the job just as good though, and I'm in love! Still getting the hang of not using windows, but I'll get there!

Next update is that I finally had my HSG test. It was booked in for Friday 13th, but they couldn't do the test, so it was re-scheduled for Wednesday 18th. I got there and by-passed a full waiting room, an the woman that was doing the test got me straight in! I put on the stupid hospital gown and was ready to go.

The procedure SUCKED big time, and it hurt more than I expected. I didn't ask questions at the end (which I now regret) as I was too busy getting dressed and going home! I should get my results at the end of January, although at first glance, my tubes look open, so that's good news.

There's not much else to report. I'll try and be better at updating though!

Newborn Photo Shoot - Baby Eve

I've wanted to do photography professionally for a while now, but other than not knowing where to start, I'd also prefer to cuddle & play with my neices & nephews when I visit, so I never really considered practicing on them.
Anyway, a friend of mine got pregnant and I offered to do some baby pics for her. I figured that even if the pics turned out really crappy, she'd still like them because they were pics of her kid!

After having to cancel, the day finally arrived, and off I went with my black fleece blanket, my beanbag and my camera. I had no clue my friend lived so close, otherwise I would have gone round much sooner. Her baby is now 9 weeks old!

So I set up by the french windows, had some baby cuddles and fed little Eve (who is so cute, BTW!), and then we were off...

I let Jo put all of the pics straight from my memory card to her laptop, and then once I got home I started editing them. Jo has all the originals & I uploaded the edits to flickr so she can save the full resolution images and print them if she wants!

So...here you go... If you live near me and know anyone that would like photo's taking, I will give it my best shot! I'm not charging anything at the moment, but should the pics turn out good, I'd like to use them in my portfolio. Kids, babies, maternity, couples...I'll try anything. The only thing I will have to pre-warn you is that I'm still very much a beginner, so the pics may not turn out *exactly* as you want them!

Our Wedding - Part 7

There are hundreds of pics of me...These are just a few snapshots off my best friends Dad's camera. I can't wait to get the pics back from the photographer! Apparently I still have to wait a few more weeks =o(

Our Wedding - Part 6

A few photographs of family & friends. Everyone had travelled such a long way to share our day with us...In total we probably had 100 guests for the ceremony and reception. We'll be forever grateful to our family and friends!

Our Wedding - Part 5

Next came the dances!

Des & I danced to Amazed by Lonestar, and then I danced to I Loved Her First by Heartland with my Dad. My Dad cried again, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house apparently!

We had an exploding balloon (above), which my sister burst part-way through mine & Des' dance. Heart shaped balloons and confetti fell out all over the place! My best friends Dad managed to capture the exact moment the balloon burst! Wooo! I LOVE everyones faces when the balloon exploded!

Our Wedding - Part 4

Our wedding cake was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

The cake was made by my parents neighbours best friend. We met her a few months ago, and we told her what we liked. She put the cake together EXACTLY as we wanted it. Everyone commented about how beautiful it looked, and also how tasty it was!

All of the flowers on the cake were made out of icing, and the diamante's on the middle tier were edible.

The bottom layer was fruit cake, the middle was lemon drizzle, and the top tier was sponge...Devine!
