Our Wedding - Part 7

There are hundreds of pics of me...These are just a few snapshots off my best friends Dad's camera. I can't wait to get the pics back from the photographer! Apparently I still have to wait a few more weeks =o(

Our Wedding - Part 6

A few photographs of family & friends. Everyone had travelled such a long way to share our day with us...In total we probably had 100 guests for the ceremony and reception. We'll be forever grateful to our family and friends!

Our Wedding - Part 5

Next came the dances!

Des & I danced to Amazed by Lonestar, and then I danced to I Loved Her First by Heartland with my Dad. My Dad cried again, and there wasn't a dry eye in the house apparently!

We had an exploding balloon (above), which my sister burst part-way through mine & Des' dance. Heart shaped balloons and confetti fell out all over the place! My best friends Dad managed to capture the exact moment the balloon burst! Wooo! I LOVE everyones faces when the balloon exploded!

Our Wedding - Part 4

Our wedding cake was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

The cake was made by my parents neighbours best friend. We met her a few months ago, and we told her what we liked. She put the cake together EXACTLY as we wanted it. Everyone commented about how beautiful it looked, and also how tasty it was!

All of the flowers on the cake were made out of icing, and the diamante's on the middle tier were edible.

The bottom layer was fruit cake, the middle was lemon drizzle, and the top tier was sponge...Devine!

Our Wedding - Part 3

Just a few photo's of Des & I!

Our Wedding - Part 2

I didn't realize I only posted a few wedding pics. I thought I'd done a few posts including wedding pics. Oops!

Our wedding - Part 1

Well, it finally happened. September 5th 2009 - the most terrifying day of my life...but it has also been the best day of my life so far!!

It was an early start as I was awoken by the hotel staff bringing me breakfast in the room. It was a full English breakfast with all the trimmings! Mmmmm!

I had numerous "What the hell am I doing?!" moments and as the time flew by, all of a sudden it became very real! My 30 minute morning soak in the bath was actually 2 hours, and the hair which was meant to take 20-30 minutes took an hour, which was the same with the make up. Time was just flying.

Somehow I managed to be ready 45 minutes early, so since Des was already at the church, I had a peek at the cake, which was just beautiful, and then I peeked at all the balloons and decorating of the rooms! My Dad and I also smoked 2 cigarettes each before getting into the wedding car!

When my Dad first saw me, he walked into the room and had to walk straight back out again to control his sobbing! Whilst my Dad was composing himself, I was giving instructions to my best friends brother about using the camera and what I wanted photographs of! As soon as my Dad came back in, Stu got busy taking photographs of me looking petrified!

The journey to the church was quick, and when we arrived it was like I was famous...About 4 'paparazzi' in the middle of the road capturing my arrival. There was the photographer and a couple of friends, and then my best friends Dad following every move the photographer made! My mums best friend was videoing the whole thing!

We posed for photographs, and then the time had come...the bit both Des and I were most scared about, the service...
As soon as we got into the church, my Dad broke down crying again. I said "Dad, shut up and stop embarassing me!" and he was sobbing so much he made a lot of people cry!!

I remember trying to just focus on Des at the front of the church, and I couldn't help but look around and see everyone. The church which was massive last week, suddenly seemed tiny as every single seat was filled! Des was stood facing forward looking towards the ceiling, and his brother (best man) was smiling so much giving me the thumbs up!

As we said our vows, I felt my bottom lip wobbling! I managed to hold it together, as did Des! During the service we had to kneel twice, and the first time I got my heel caught in the underskirt of my dress and I ripped it =o( but it was nothing major!

As we signed the register and then walked out of the church, it was official. We were FINALLY Mr and Mrs!
